Birthing ball

Post by handbagqueen on Tue Jul 08, 2008 2:35 pm

hello all, hope everyone is ok?

just wondered if anyone has bought a birthing ball recently and can give me a link to a good site to order one from?

(I went to get the thread where I was already told this on the old forum this morning and couldn't see it!)

You can use a plain old gym ball if you are 5'8 and under.

Otherwise you need a 75cm one (most are 65cm)

Birthing balls from here, but ore expensive than plain gym ball.

I got mine from tesco and think it was only a couple of quid not worth getting one that is called a birthing ball as they tend to cost more for the same thing

i got mine from home and bargain for about 2.99
not used it at all, i was told its meant to be good to "bob" on when things are uncomfy, but then its cheap enough for me not to be bothered if i dont use it at all.

I'm over 5'8 so need to get a bigger one not gotten round to it yet but I think the fact a birth ball will go down safely if popped compared to a gym ball which I believe can go off with abit of a bang I would pay the extra few quid for a proper birth ball.
