I'm having this same dilemma. It seems that there are specific ones for pregnancy (have to have a boost switch). Cheapest to buy seems to be Mama TENS on amazon for about 30 and to hire they're minimum 25. I had a look on ebay and gumtree and can't see much second hand stuff for sale. So annoying the proper forum isn't working well, I wanted to check if anyone is selling one.

Read the fine print first though. Some say they're not suitable during labour, such as their half price one No

Gah! they're so expensive! *faints*

Think I'll go with the Amazon Mama TENS. Reckon I'll get so irritable with contractions that I'll ripe it off after a few minutes anyway. My main pain coping mecanism is to loudly whinge and complain to everyone around me. I'm hoping that will get me through a good few hours.

Incidently my Middie said its ok to take panadol as a first line of pain management during labour. Hadn't even considered it as an option until she mentioned it.

Do you have a sure start centre near you? My local one has them to burrow for free (never got round to getting one) but the hospital where I'm going also has them, so it might be worth checking that out first!

Just imagine the cute baby stuff you could buy with the money rather then a boring old tens machine!
