starting to dread the evenings!!

Post by kmac on Wed Aug 31, 2011 2:17 am

I am hoping someone is going to tell me this is normal and just a (short) phase!!!

Basically DS has started really playing up in the evenings (he is 2, will be 3 in January).
He screams and tantrums in the bath. Refuses to sit down. No idea why - he has always loved the bath.
Then comes bedtime omg... again he has always been good at going to bed but he immediately starts screaming and crying as soon as we try and leave the room! It doesn't matter how long we sit for, as soon as we move he is bolt upright in bed. He gets really hysterical.
I don't know why he has started being like this - nothing has happened or changed.
Anyone got any ideas?
I wish he could talk more and tell us what the matter is!!

its just a phase! its funny how quickly u forget lol but i do remember millie being like it a few years ago! i cant remember how she stopped now think she just grew out of it; think ur right it does help when they get a better grasp of language and are not restricted to 2/3-word sentences xx

We went through a phase of this at around 20 months. I put it down to the disruption of moving halfway around the world coupled with her changing to a new bed (rather than the cot).

For us it only stopped when we moved her into the travel cot rather than the bed (she's still there now) but ours was probably prompted by something different.

Hang in there!!

thanks for your replies!

I would understand it if something had changed but there really is nothing!
I made sure he had moved into his toddler bed well in advance of DD arriving so there wasn't too much change for him all at once.
